Bad beauty habits to break NOW

The month of January is all about making those resolutions that you try to stick to year in, year out. However, this year Tesco Mobile, along with frockadvisor, want to help you avoid all those bad recommendations, and make the best of 2016!

Don’t listen to those bad recommendations about your skin. Breaking the rules is ok every once and a while, however breaking beauty rules isn’t as forgiving.. We’ve all adopted bad beauty habits at some point in our lives, however there are some that we need to break immediately! Scroll below for 4 bad beauty habits that can easily be turned to good ones, with just a little bit of effort that will benefit you instantly and in the long run. Bad beauty habits to break NOW (11) Don’t ever listen to the friend that pipes up, “sometimes when I sleep in my makeup, it looks even better the next day, with just a little top up”. This is not good advice, not true! Many of us have committed the cardinal beauty sin of sleeping in our makeup after a night out and rolling out of bed with makeup from the day before. → Resolution: Invest in a good ‘make-off’ routine We’re all guilty of not cleaning our makeup off at the end of the night every now and again, but unfortunately not doing so can wreak havoc to our skin. Old makeup can clog up our pores and collect dirt which can in turn results in blemishes and dull skin.  While old-fashioned facial washing is key, it probably won’t be carried out after a night out, so ensuring you have a packet of face wipes or micellar water and cotton buds handy, is key to ensuring this bad beauty habit can be broken once and for all. While we don’t recommend using face wipes every night, as most are saturated with chemicals like alcohol that can irritate and dry out the skin, it’s still better than not cleaning your makeup off at all. For those of you who don’t want to go down the face wipe route, micellar water is for you! Micellar water has gained huge popularity in the last number of years for it’s highly effective cleansing and hydrating properties. And really, what’s more effective and convenient than a non-rinse, soap-free cleanser! These handy products ensure that there’s no excuse for you to not clean your makeup off at night.. Trying to match the rest of your body to your too tanned face is not a good look and you will be left with inevitable streaky foundation lines. → Resolution: Stick to your natural shade and get rid of that line One of the biggest cardinal beauty sins is mismatching your foundation. Foundation lines are just not ok and should be avoided at all costs. Many people incorrectly opt for a darker foundation shade than their actual skin tone. Instead, when buying foundation, consult with a makeup artist at a beauty counter who will help you find the perfect shade. And don’t fret if you think your foundation is too light, for a deeper shade you simply build up on it with bronzing powder.  Alternatively, No7 are known for their incredible ‘Match Made Foundation Service‘, whereby No7 advisors help you find your perfect foundation shade using a device that reads your skin colour precisely.  Bad beauty habits to break NOW (13) Washing your hair every night is not advised as it washes out the natural oils in your hair and in fact makes hair more greasy. If you wash your hair everyday and feel that you need to, you’ve essentially trained your hair. → Resolution: Re-train your hair Re-train your hair by reducing the amount of times you wash your hair a week, to every second or third day. On the off washing days, use dry shampoo. Dry shampoo in our eyes is underrated. Best applied just before you go to bed, your hair will be fresh and bouncy come morning time! beauty bad habits to break now We love: Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo
