It’s the New Year, which means “New Year, New You”! As cliché as it sounds, this is the time of year when most of us genuinely stand by this mantra and make a conscious decision to be healthy and get fit. We’re all guilty for concocting the most ridiculous and feeble excuses to get out of a gym session, at some point in our lives, but don’t let how you look be one of them.. Let’s be honest, going to the gym sans makeup is intimidating for most of us. In our heads we want to be a confident and natural bare faced beauty who doesn’t want, need or relies on makeup. While most around us would advise not to wear makeup to the gym, we beg to differ. Wearing a little bit of makeup to look good at the gym never hurt anyone, as long as you clean it off accordingly. Not all of us can look as flawless as we’d like to be without the help of makeup, but fear not as there are ways to fake this flawlessness! Enter the ‘no makeup’ makeup look.  Not a lot of effort goes into creating this stripped back look, in fact minimal effort is needed, but high impact results can be achieved. Strategically placing products where it’s needed will ensure the most perfect, subtle, workout look.  Scroll below for our tips on how to create this au natural look. the no makeup makeup look - work on your base → Step 1: To create dimension on the face, use MAC Strobe Cream over the cheeks and bridge of nose for a highlighting or strobing effect. This cream can also be mixed into foundation to create luminosity to the skin. Using a highlighting cream will make your skin look naturally glowing. → Step 2: Use a light foundation like MAC Face & Body Foundation. This is a gorgeous foundation that’s an all time favourite of makeup artists and beauty bloggers alike, worldwide, and has been used at various fashion shows over the years. This foundation gives the skin a dewy look, while smoothing out imperfections. It’s consistency is runny, however, the beauty of this product is that the more you buff, the more thick the foundation becomes making it build-able, giving fuller coverage all the while natural looking. → Step 3: To conceal spots and imperfections, use MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer. Don’t go overboard with concealer, just ensure you use a tiny brush to pinpoint and cover imperfections.  → Step 4: For your cheeks, you want to create ‘just pinched cheeks’. Use a cream blusher like Clinique Brushwear Cream Stick, which will make the skin look super natural with just a pinch of colour for warmth. → Step 5: And, for powder to set, use Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. The no makeup makeup look - 2 - minimal eyes → Step 1: For the brows, fill them in sparingly. Use an eye shadow will ensure the brows look soft and natural and gently add strokes to fill them with a fine slanted brush. Then, to set, use an eyebrow gel like Maybelline Eyebrow Mascara. → Step 2: If your lashes need defining, slick a small amount of mascara on the lashes like Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara. The no makeup makeup look - natural pout → Step 1: Create stain bitten lips with a peach or rose coloured lipstick like. Simply press on the lips and blend with your fingers for a more natural look, or you could use a cream blusher like the Clinique one mentioned above.  And hey presto, there you have it – The perfect no makeup makeup look to knock one one less excuse of the list and ensure your gym ready
