Beauty Basics: The Old Reliables
The beauty market is undoubtedly saturated with an abundance of beauty products tailored to tend to our beauty woes. There is almost too much noise, which makes it difficult to stick to one product and use it religiously. We are constantly tempted by the next best thing. The team at frockadvisor HQ had a discussion about what products we would use religiously and rely on. Surprisingly, we all answered with a few basic products that are in no way top of the range, yet we rely on them or furthermore will go out and purchase them over a similar more expensive product. Take a look below as some of our fave go to products, to use in times of need! You can’t go wrong with vaseline! Whether it’s dry chapped lips, or dehydrated skin, this magic jelly works wonders. While there are products like Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, which we can’t deny is amazing, vaseline at it’s extremely attractive price, is a definite go to for us! Vaseline (which has also featured in our makeup hacks) is a nifty little product can be used to make your own lip balm with crushed eyeshadows! Sudocrem and toothpaste have long been used as spot busters. Sudocrem is an antiseptic healing cream and probably the safer of the two for tackling spots. Although it is aimed primarily at the treatment of nappy rash, it’s also aimed at skin care, so go for your life with this one! Toothpaste on the other hand can leave a dark mark on your skin, particularly if you have dark or olive skin, so if you choose to use toothpaste as a spot treatment, use sparingly and literally just on the spot. For another spot treatment, this time in the form of natural antiseptic, tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has long been used for tackling spots. Best when applied to pimples directly. The Body Shop have a great range of tea tree products. Baby oil is a staple of a product. It has many different uses and is super cheap! Use as a makeup remover, eye makeup remover, before shaving, adding moisture to dry hair ends and of course, moisturising the skin!
