Adele explains what ‘Hello’ is all about

Speaking frankly with the cool kids at iD-Vice about what her smash hit record ‘Hello’ is all about, Adele reveals some hidden meanings behind her popular tear-jerker. In this intimate interview Adele reveals stories from her past that she kept to herself throughout her hugely successful career, among these revelations are some incredible insights into what makes ‘Hello’ a lamentation of the past. “So ‘Hello’ is about wanting to be at home and wanting to reach out to everyone I’ve ever hurt – including myself – and apologize for it, […] The record is about getting older and becoming nostalgic. It’s about what was, what is, what might have been. It’s about missing things that you had no idea were so precious, like being 18 years old and drinking two litre bottles of cider in Brockwell Park with your mates.” Adele then went to explain how motherhood has impacted on her career and song writing “I used to f—king love the drama of all of it, but now I’m a mom I only have so much head space. I’ve got to clear a lot of stuff the f—k out, which is really therapeutic, ’cause I can really hold a grudge. Life is so much easier when you don’t hoard your past.”
