Whoever said coffee was bad for you, is wrong! Well, in terms of coffee in beauty products. It’s widely known that caffeine can help to reduce puffy eyes and cellulite, and there are many products available with said ingredient. However, we’ve decided to delve into the DIY route and show you ways to make your own beauty products with this addictive ingredient! Coffee's beauty secrets: Facial Mask This super simple facial scrub includes only 2 ingredients and is great for those who suffer from oily skin. It can also help to reduce the appearance of pores, which sounds like a winner to us! Ingredients: Finely grained coffee grounds | 1 Small Cup of Milk Instructions: Simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl, until you get a thick consistency. If you find the mixture is too runny, just add more grained coffee into it. Apply the mask all over your face, ensuring to avoid the eye and mouth area and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. Then, wash the mask off with cold water.  Coffee's beauty secrets: Facial Scrub A facial scrub is a must in your beauty regimen, especially in the colder months to rid the skin of dullness and dryness. The beauty of this scrub is that you can doubles up as a body scrub. Ingredients: Coffee Grounds | Coconut Oil | Cinnamon | Raw Sugar | Optional: Yoghurt / Plain Cream Instructions: Play around with quantities, but essentially you want the consistency of a scrub. If the mixture is too runny, add more dry ingredients in it. If you like, add plain yoghurt to the mixture which will work best for those with oily skin. If you have dry skin, it’s best to mix a bit of plain cream to the scrub rather than yoghurt.  Coffee's beauty secrets hair treatment Caffeine is known to stimulate hair growth as it increases circulation when massaged into the scalp, helping to stimulate hair follicles which in turn speed up hair growth. The hair treatment outlined below is almost too simple! Ingredients: Brewed Coffee Instructions: Let brewed coffee chill and pour it into a spray bottle. Use in the shower, spray the coffee onto your roots and allow to sit as long as possible. Rinse the hair, then shampoo and condition as usual.  Coffee's beauty secrets eye de-puffer Caffeine is an active ingredient in many under eye treatments as it helps to reduce under eye bag swelling. Using coffee can help to tighten the skin and smooth puffiness.  We love this coffee-infused eye cream from Hello Natural Ingredients: 1/4 Cup of Beeswax | 1/4 Cup of Coffee Infused With Oil | 1/4 Cup of Coconut Oil | 1 Teaspoon Jojoba Oil | 3 Capsules Vitamin E | 4-5 Drops of Chamomile Essential Oil Instructions: To make coffee infused oil, simply ground 3 tablespoons of whole coffee beans in a coffee grinder. Add 4 ounces pf olive oil to the ground coffee, pour into a pan and place over a low heat for 15 minutes. Once this is done, you want to strain the oil from the ground coffee. Use either a cheesecloth or a coffee filter, by placing it over the top of a cup and pour the coffee oil mixture into the filter, keeping the coffee infused oil for later.  Place beeswax in a glass bowl and submerge the bowl into a large pot of water on a low heat. Once this has melted, mix in the coffee infused oil, along with the coconut oil, jojoba oil and vitamin e oil and stir. Remove from heat and then add 4-5 drops of chamomile essential oil.  To store, pour the mixture into small tin containers and pop in the fridge to solidify. Once solidified, use as you would a normal under eye cream! Coffee's beauty secrets: cellulite scrub Coffee helps improve the appearance of cellulite as it helps to revive the skin, through circulation.  Ingredients: Ground Coffee Beans | A Few Drops of Tea Tree Oil | Water Instructions: Mix one part water with two parts coffee grounds and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Using a skin brush apply the mixture and gently brush the skin in a circular motion.
