Concealer does just what its name says. It can cover up pretty much anything (within reason!). There are a number basic tips that most of us know when using concealer, from using your ring finger to gently pat under the eyes, to sealing your concealer in place with a translucent powder. However, many of us presume that our one concealer in our makeup bag, is multifunctional and can be used for everything. This is not the case! There are many different types of concealers with different roles. Lets go back to the basics and differentiate between the types of concealers available and their functions!
Types of concealers1. Concealer pencils come in a wax or cream-based form. They are best used to cover dark spots and small blemishes. 2. Concealer pens usually offer light to medium coverage and are luminous and sheer. Most have light reflecting particles and are brightening, especially for under the eyes. Great for concealing dark under eye circles 3. Stick Concealers are usually of a thick consistency and boast full coverage. They’re great for covering spots or blemishes. 4. Liquid Concealers are very similar to concealer pens and offer light to medium coverage. Instead of having a brush head like a concealer pen, they usually have a sponge head. These types of concealers are best used to conceal blemishes. 5. Cream Concealers are highly pigmented and boast full coverage. They are best applied with a concealer brush.
