Hedi Slimane exits Yves Saint Laurent
It was confirmed this morning that creative director of Yves Saint Laurent, Hedi Slimane, has exited the Fashion House after three and a half years. The rumour mill has been circulating news of Slimane’s departure for months previous but has been brushed off by Yves Saint Laurent as “false speculation” up to now. However, a statement was released last night with the Kering CEO Francois-Henri Pinault “What Yves Saint Laurent has achieved over the past four years represents a unique chapter in the history of the house. I am very grateful to Hedi Slimane, and the whole Yves Saint Laurent team, for having set the path that the house has successfully embraced, and which will grant longevity to this legendary brand.” Slimane is yet to comment. The fashion world has experienced upheaval in the last year with notable departures such as Alexander Wang’s exit from Balenciaga and Raf Simon’s exit from Lanvin.
