How to Sweat Proof Your Makeup for Summer
There really is nothing worse than your makeup melting from your face!! With Summer here and hopefully sunny days included, heat and humidity can cause your makeup to run. In addition to the elements, sweat and oil from your skin will contribute to this makeup melt down! In order to not look like a hot mess, the skin should be prepped properly and the correct products must be applied to keep shine and smeared runny makeup at bay! Have a look below at some tips and Summer friendly products, that can help you achieve a melt-free face! 1. Don’t over-moisturise Ensure you use a light moisturiser, as a heavy one can leave a shiny residue on your skin. Use an oil free moisturiser like Simple Protecting Light Moisturiser , to eliminate shiny skin! 2. Prime Once your moisturiser has dried, prime prime prime! Primer creates a veil on the skin, which smoothes out imperfections, making your skin the perfect canvas for makeup application. For your face use Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. There’s nothing worse than oily lids making your eyeshadow bundling and crease. For your eyes use Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This is a mattifying primer which is amazing for keeping your shadow intact all day long. It also provides better colour payoff when you apply eyeshadow. Make sure to use a bit of primer under your eyes also, close to your lash line as this will keep shadow or liner in place!
3. Waterproof makeup For your foundation, use Estée Lauder Stay-in-Place Makeup. This is a budge-proof foundation that’s oil free and offers build-able coverage. For the eyes, opt for a water-resistant eyeliner like M.A.C Superslick Liquid Eye Liner. For mascara use a water-proof one like Bobbi Brown No Smudge Mascara For the brows, use Stila Stay All Day Waterproof brow Colour 4. Powder up Gently brush a light translucent powder like Maybelline Mineral Power Finishing Veil Translucent Loose Powder all over your face, to set your makeup in place. Don’t limit your powder to your face! To stop eyeliner from smearing, after applying liner, apply powder to your upper lid. Go over your eyeliner with a translucent powder using a fine liner brush. As for lower lashes, use a sheer pressed powder along the lash line before and after applying liner. 5. Fix it! For extra staying power, use a fixing spray like Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. This is an amazing product which ensures no makeup slippage!
