In defense of the “Crazy Ex”

Taylor Swift Blank Space Crazy Ex
No need to deny it – we’ve all had a touch of “Crazy-Ex” syndrome. It’s a term regularly bandied around as one of the emotionally injured duo will embellish their ex stories to wide-eyed awe, guffaws of laughter, and expressions of ,”They sound legit bonkers.” However, large chunks of that story will also be edited out for maximum “crazy-ex” impact to make the storyteller seem hard done by. Pfffft, there ain’t no smoke without fire. It’s also a dangerous term that can lead to repressed feelings, issues being brushed under the carpet, and self-doubt, in an attempt to look emotionally stable and “not crazy”. Ironically, what people tend to forget is, we’re human and therefore naturally all a bit mad. Recently Reddit asked its users to share stories from the crazy-ex point of view – a refreshing change. The question posed was: “”Crazy-Ex’s” of Reddit: What’s your side of the story?” What transpired was that basically the “crazy” was somewhat justified. From “hostage” kittens to dating narcissists, read on to see some of the stories from the other side of the fence.     We say embrace the crazy…as long as no-one gets hurt… Read more crazy ex stories here.
