Makeup Look Lust: Abbey Lee of Mad Max
Model and actress of the moment Abbey Lee never seizes to amaze in the fashion, hair and beauty stakes. Her quirky, slightly punk rock style is the envy of many women around the world and lets be honest, no one does a septum ring better than Abbey Lee! The Australian beauty recently debuted a mane of mermaid inspired, pastel hair, alongside Alexander Wang. While her hair is amazing, we can’t help, but also be mesmerised by Abbey’s makeup. Every time we see a photo of Abbey, her makeup looks flawless! Her skin looks sun kissed and, well, perfect, and her blue eyes look undeniably piercing, which is helped by the clever application of her eye makeup. See below for a list a products and tips that will help you achieve this look.
F A C EAbbey’s base looks absolutely flawless and has a youthful luminous glow. To achieve this sought after glow, Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation. Use a beauty blender to push this foundation into the skin to create a seamless finish. To brighten the centre of the face and conceal any areas that need extra coverage, try Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer, which is an amazing concealer, that not only successfully hides dark circles and blemishes, but also feels great on the skin. Using your ring finger, tap this under your eyes, then gently blend into the rest of your makeup by tapping with your beauty blender. Add a gentle contour and flush to the face with a subtle brush of bronzer like Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder. Set the skin with BareMinerals Mineral Veil powder which will keep your makeup in place with it’s demi-matte finish.
E Y E SAbbey’s eyes are naturally a brilliant blue colour, however, they look particularly piercing due to the eye makeup she’s wearing. But firstly, lets talk eyebrows. Luckily for Abbey, she boasts full eyebrows, naturally. Not all of us do, but either way it’s important to spend a bit of time on the brows as they frame your face. Less is more, so an eyeshadow gently brushed through the brows is probably the best type of product to use. Abbey Lee is wearing a bronze warm toned eyeshadow, which looks fabulous on people with blue eyes. It really brings out the blue in her eyes and the smoky cat eye really makes her eyes pop. For eyeshadow, gently brush your bronzer over the whole eyelid, applying more product on the crease and blending. You want the eyeshadow to look seamless, so really focusing on blending with a clean brush is key. Our favourite blending brush is, all time favourite, Mac 217 Blending Brush. Bronzer makes her eyes look warm. To add shimmer to the eyes, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eyeshadow stick in the shade ‘Goldstone’ is gorgeous! To add smoke to the outer corner of your eyes like Abbey, use a black kohl eyeliner to line the eyes. Then, using a black eyeshadow, like Mac in the shade ‘Carbon’, and a skinny angled brush, create a cat-eye flick which will give the illusion of lifted eyes, and blend blend blend up towards the crease. Add some individual lashes to the outer corners of the eyes which will further lift them. Then coat lashes with mascara!
L I P SAbbey is wearing a pink nude lip which compliments the rest of the makeup perfectly. Line the lips with a nude coloured lipliner like No7 Precision Lip Pencil and then use a lipstick like Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in Rosepout.
