Pretty in Pastel

Candy coloured makeup dominated the spring/summer ’16 catwalks. Icy blues, lilacs, powder pinks and mints were the most popular colours of choice. The pastel trend can be tricky to master, the wrong colour combination can leave you looking clown-like or animated. However, when executed correctly the look can be fashion forward and chic. We’ve looked towards the beauty pros for some guidance on pulling off the trend.

Feeling Blue

Jill Stuart filled her spring/summer ’16 catwalk with pastel faced pretties. This daring blue eye looks just as amazing on green and brown eyes as it does on sparkling blue eyes.  frock’s Top Tip: Keep the face and lip fresh and sheer, allow the eyes to be the focus point.

Minty Fresh

Freshen up with this icy mint eye from Belle_makeupartist. The bold black liner accentuates the eye and really makes the pastel colour pop.

If you’re fearful of going full pastel, try this pastel pink cut crease eye. Jeanettecroninmua takes a subtle approach to the trend blending pastel pinks with whites and blacks. The perfect solution for anyone hoping to nail the trend in a more subtle manner.

In the Spotlight

We adore this purple spotlight eye from makeup artist scullenmakeup. The dark purple contrast highlights the lilac, creating a stunningly dramatic evening look.

Jeamileth tackles the trend with this pastel lip and eye combo. We adore the makeup artist’s aqua waterline combined with a lilac eye and pastel pink winged liner.
