Summer Beauty Hacks
Everyone loves a good hack whether it’s a fashion or makeup hack! Today, we bring to you, Summer beauty hacks. Summer is all about hot weather, holidays and beach time! Although it’s our favourite season, it really can take it’s toll on our beauty routine and appearance, i.e., frizzy hair and makeup meltdowns! Take a look below where we have covered some strange but clever, beauty related, hot weather hacks that actually work! For those of us who wear fake tan (go you for faking it and protecting your skin from the sun!), you know how easy it is to suffer a fake tan blunder. These blunders come most commonly in the form of streaky tan or uneven blotches! Before you scrub your skin red raw, to even out your tan faux-pas, simply mix baking soda and water together to form a paste. Then, exfoliate the problem area with the paste, using a loofah. This will wash away the excess tan with ease! You’ve had your fill of sun and sand for the day, now for the cumbersome task of trying to rid of every last grain of sand from your skin (impossible!), for a comfortable walk home from the beach! Sprinkling baby powder anywhere on your skin where sand is stuck to you, is probably one of the greatest and logical (think about it!) summer hacks on this list! The powder will absorb the moisture of sweat and water on your skin and you’ll be able to wipe all of the sand off immediately. Dry shampoo is a girl’s best friend, if it’s not yours, then shame on you – She’s probably one of the most loyal friends a girl could have! The best way to use dry shampoo is just before you go to bed. Spritz on your roots to absorb perspiration and moisture throughout the night. The product will set in your hair overnight and work it’s magic to give you that freshly washed feel in the morning! A cumulation of sun, sand, salt water and sweat is not good for your hair, no matter what your hair colour. These factors can affect your hair colour and make it look dull. To keep your hair looking vibrant, use apple cider vinegar, every time you spend the day outside. Pour some apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle and spritz your hair. Let is set in your hair for 10 minutes then rinse out, and reap the benefits of long lasting colour and vibrancy! If you’re getting your tootsies out for Summer, ensure that your feet are exfoliated! Instead of hitting the nail salon for weekly pedis, just grab a potato. Yes, you heard right, a potato! Simply cut a potato in half and coat it in coarse sea salt. Scrub it on your feet wherever you have dry skin, primarily the soles and sides for an instant exfoliating experience! As much as we try to prevent sunburn, there are times when we all become sunburn culprits! Using aloe vera is one of the best ingredients to soothe burned skin. But for an even better use of aloe vera, chill it! Simply fill an ice cube tray with aloe vera and pop it in the freezer, then pop out a cube or two when you need relief. Blow drying your hair on a hot Summer day is no fun. Heat on heat, no thanks! Excessively sweating while styling- the struggle is real! A simple hack to make this scenario easier is to spray deodorant (must be a powder one) to the back of your neck a few minutes before blow drying your hair. This will relieve the back of your neck from sweat and will make styling your hair that bit easier!
