Battle of the Best Dressed: This Week in Fashion
It’s been a busy week in the world of celebrity. On Saturday, celeb’s ransacked their wardrobes and frantically dialled their stylists in a bid to impress the First Lady with their fashion efforts at the 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The style icons then had just one day of rest before they hit the Met Gala red carpet in a battle of the best dressed.
Keeping Up With The JennersKendall Jenner’s bringing the supermodel phenomenon back. This week’s showstopper was Kenny’s risqué Met Gala string dress from Versace. Kendall also owned the White House Correspondents’ Dinner red carpet when she carried off a classic black Vivienne Westwood gown. The reality star is quickly becoming a mainstay on our best dressed list.
Good Girl Gone Bad?There was no sign of Taylor Swift’s classic, girl next door image this week. Almost overnight, she has become an edgy bleached blonde bombshell. We are awarding major style points for Swifty’s bold new look and her more casual attire. Taylor’s Met Gala metallic Louis Vuitton dress secured her a place on our best dressed list this week. We will definitely be uploading the singer’s strappy heels to the frockadvisor app to find ourselves a pair!
Baby’s Got BackIt was all about the back with Emily Ratajkowski this week as she wowed in two back-baring beauties. The model’s emerald green look for the White House Correspondents Dinner was feminine and elegant, baring your back is a classic way to flash some flesh without looking trashy. The sheer, floral embroidered, figure-hugging gown was created by Monique Lhuillier. The Filipino designer created the perfect balance of sensual elegance. Ratajkowski’s monochrome Met Gala look was just as stylish and even more sensual than Saturday’s choice. Her Prabal Gurung thigh-slit dress cemented the style icon’s name on our best dressed list.
Lima in RedAdriana Lima demanded attention at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in this red hot Juan Carlos Obando halter neck gown. The Vitoria’s Secret Angel continued to wow at Monday’s Met Gala when she stole the show in Giambattista Valli. Lima’s ultra-feminine, floral detail midi will go down in frockadvisor best dressed history.
Ditch the Thigh-Highs!Bella Hadid’s head-turning Met Gala gown just barely made it on to our best dressed shortlist. While we are swooning for Bella’s dramatically ruffled hem from Givenchy, we are not fans of her thigh-high boots. A killer stiletto with flash of skin would have brightened the look up and added to the glamour.
