The Fashion World Mourns Bill Cunningham

The fashion world are in mourning following the death of iconic New York Times fashion photographer, Bill Cunningham. Bill was hospitalised recently having suffered a stroke which later led to his death. The 87 year old, who had worked with New York Times for 40 years, was most commonly found around the streets of New York snapping street style with his signature blue jacket and bike. His keen eye for style combined with his immense talent documented fashion in a manner that not only took a snapshot of clothing, but also told a story. Anna Wintour once famously quipped: “We all get dressed for Bill”. It’s no great surprise that the American Vogue’s editor-in-chief was a huge fan of the humble street style photographer. Designers, models and celebrities have all flocked to social media to pay tribute to the late photographer with tales of first encounters, kind words and sincere admiration for the candid photographer.
