The Met Gala 2016: Who stole the show

Can you believe it has already been a year since the last Met Gala? Time really does fly! This year saw celebrities, influencers, fashion moguls and more descend on red carpet to celebrate “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.”. Guests at the event adhered to the policy of dressing appropriately to suit the theme of the event – this year’s theme was technology in fashion so that’s why so many of our favourite celebrities looks like they’re from the not so distant future. Tickets to this event cost $30,000 – despite the huge price, tickets are nearly impossible to get a hold of as punters are more than happy to shelve out an extortionate sum of cash for a night of posing on the red carpet and taking selfies. Here are some looks from last night that made heads turn – some for the right reasons and others for all the wrong reasons.

Lady Gaga

We love her commitment to the futuristic theme, we’re also seriously impressed at how she manages to rock some seriously high heels.

Solange Knowles

We kind of love this free standing design that Solange sported. The architectural structure of this ensemble is breathtaking.

Look, we love Beyonce, but we do not love this look. The dress colour and all the adhoc pearls make it look like an infection or an STD.

Cindy Crawford

Cindy looks every bit the part in head to toe Balmain.

Kendall Jenner

Our favourite Jenner looks absolutely stunning in custom Balmain.

The Olsen Twins

The Sister Grim stole the show for looking absolutely miserable in unimaginative matching looks.
