We’re pretty devastated here at frockadvisor HQ with the recent news that our skinny jeans are doing us damage! A scientific journal, “Fashion victim: rhabdomyolysis and bilateral peroneal and tibial neuropathies as a result of squatting in ‘skinny jeans,'”, that was published yesterday revealed that skinny jeans could potentially cause nerve damage after a 35 year old Australian woman developed compartment syndrome caused by muscle swelling from wearing the offending trousers. The woman had innocently been helping a friend move house by lifting boxes, followed by a stroll in the park which resulted in nerve and muscle damage to her legs caused by her tight jeans. She was unable to walk for days afterwards as a result of her injury. In future, skinny jeans should come with a health warning! Luckily there are fashionable alternatives out there.
