Weekends: Expectation VS Reality

Mindy
It’s such a shame that weekends are only two days long. There’s so much to do, so little time to do it. But do our grandiose weekend plans ever come to fruition? Sure on Tuesday or Wednesday we might flirt with the idea of a Saturday morning hike or learning how to perfect a soufflé, but the harsh reality is wine somehow wins every time

Just a catch up with the Girls

You and your best gal pals have had a busy couple of weeks, but you decide that this is the weekend you’re all going to catch up, go out for dinner, and maybe, just maybe, have a small glass of wine.

Expectation

Reality:

Finally starting that book you bought months ago

It’s been nagging you. You see it every day, staring at you from your bedside locker, filling you with guilt. This is the weekend were you will finally get your hands on this page turner.

Expectation

Reality

Meeting up with old friends and rekindling friendships

Meeting up with old friends from college or even work is such a wonderful experience. You’ll reminisce of times past, you’ll even forget why you all stopped hanging out in the first place.

Expectations

Reality

Learning a new recipe

You’ve finally gotten to grips with couscous, but now quinoa is all the rage. So you decide that this Saturday is the perfect time to brush up on your culinary prowess.

Expectation

Reality

Cosy night in with your boyfriend/girlfriend

You and your significant other haven’t sat down and watched a film together in so long. Sure you haven’t even been to the cinema since 50 Shades of Grey.

Expectation

Reality

Shopping

Your wardrobe is looking very drab. It’s time to nip out and get some AW15 essentials. But what about the crowds, all those horrible weekend shoppers with their prams and screaming children.

Expectation

Reality

Staying in

They say staying in is the new going out, so this weekend you’re going to stay put and just do nothing!

Expectation

Reality

Hosting a party

It’s still a while to go before pay day, so you decide to throw a small party. You tell your friends to bring their own booze so you’re not out of pocket.
